Letter From Swan Lake First Nation

The Swan Lake First Nation has purchased a number of computers from Computer Trends in the past few months. We have been treated very well by the personnel working at Computer Trends understanding our needs and providing information on equipment that we require. They have shown our representatives respect in all dealings with us. Due to the excellent service we will be continuing our business relationship with Computer Trends. We have and will continue to recommend Computer Trends to other people, organizations and businesses for their computer needs.

Praise From Our Customer Craig

I am sending you this e-mail to give you some feedback on one of  you stores and employees.

My name is Craig. I have been a Sales and Marketing manger in various companies for over 20 years, so I know how important it is to get factual information on the activities of your staff and stores. On to my story of our experience in Computer Trends, Lethbridge. My son was looking purchase a computer to play games on and had a limited budget to work with. In August the flyer that you used for back to school specials established a top of the mind awareness with him that took about 2 months before he had enough money to proceed. I know that he did "shop" other stores, Future Shop, London Drugs, Costco, and investigated the possibility of getting one through our IT person at work. That's just so you can gauge your marketing and competitive elements with a typical 18 year old male that has a job and need for online games.

I pre-phoned your store to check on hours of operation and location as well as do a little "phone shopping". It was Edward who answered the phone. His phone etiquette was very good and he did an excellent job of offering suggestions and answering my questions as well as giving the all too often dangerous phone quote for price. It was of course high but he did well as I tell my sales staff, you can't sell what you can't see. When we arrived a sales person was busy with some other customers he did however acknowledge our presence, something that you of course know is very important. It probably wasn't more than a minute or so when another person came from the back and welcomed us to Computer Trends, he then went on to an information gathering process. This was Edward. I had never met him before, but his approach sparked my interest as we are continually training our sales staff both inside sales and outside sales on the importance of using a selling process. I could immediately tell that Edward had embraced this type of process. He did an excellent job of learning why we were there, how we had heard about the store, gave us a history of the store and established a very good relationship quite quickly. Although he kept telling us he was not a salesman but a tech.

I was very impressed with the way Edward took us through the sales process. His approach and technique of selling is very relaxed and he does an excellent job of selling to needs and solutions. In the end my son took advantage of the finance available so he could purchase a "5 year" machine as Edward put it which of course was more money than he had but will I am sure be better for him in the long run. In short we are very satisfied with the purchase and I am extremely impressed with the salesmanship of Edward. Think that you have good asset in Edward, and I felt that you would want to know how at least one of your employees is doing. As a customer because of our positive experience at your store I would purchase from you again and I would definitely recommend you to my friends and family. I would urge them to ask for Edward though. He is probably one of the best non-salesman, salesman I have had the pleasure of dealing with.

Craig

Praise From Our Customer Nicole

I bought my laptop last night - Rob was great and I'm ecstatic with my purchase. I just wanted to say thank you - I'll be referring anyone that I know who is in the market for a computer to one of your locations. Thanks again!

Nicole

Praise From Our Customers Don & Sharon

Thank you for your advice and assistance in helping us buy a laptop computer when we visited your store on Friday.

After we got home, we more fully realized the value of the upgraded computer. My wife Sharon and I are very pleased with our new computer, and would not hesitate to recommend that others visit Computer Trends when considering buying a computer. We have one interested, potential customer here in Winnipeg, who will likely visit your store in the near future. Also, we have a friend in Ottawa who is interested in an upgraded computer, likely a laptop. You don't happen to have a store that far east do you? I'm kidding of course as, I believe, your stores are concentrated in the west. Thanks again.

Praise From Our Customer Gordon

Thank you again for helping me with some technical problems with my PC yesterday and today. I have the PC up and running. Given it had all my accounting information on it; I was getting frustrated that I could not get the computer working. Thanks again for relieving that stress. If I can repay the favor with some no-charge legal advice on some small issue, please let me know.

Gordon

Praise From Sir Alexander Mackenzie School, St Albert, AB

It gives me tremendous pleasure to recognize and recommend Computer Trends as a business as well as the incredible personalized service of Blaine Waddell as the manager. Under the current site-based decision-making model that is prevalent in most publicly funded school districts in Alberta, individual schools are “local decision-making units,” able to make their own purchasing decisions and as such, be accountable for the products and services that are purchased.

Businesses often replace entire computer systems every two or three years but inadequate funding to public education makes this type of a replacement program absolutely impossible. As a result, we have to be much smarter with public money. After a NAIT instructor (who is also a) SAM parent recommended in 2004 that we give Computer Trends a try, we have been overwhelmingly satisfied ever since!

Just prior to the Christmas break in 2004-05, we purchased 31 HP computers for our computer lab that have served us very well ever since. At the same time, we purchased two HP l7” laptop administration computers. Even though we purchased an extended warranty, we have not had a problem. In 2005-06, we purchased 25 Compaq computers (one for every classroom) with an upgraded video card, enabling us to connect computers to televisions that are mounted in every classroom at SAM School. We have also up-graded memory in existing computers and the prices have always been extremely reasonable. This year, we replaced bulky old monitors with 27 flat screen LCD monitors for classrooms, secretaries, and office areas at SAM School. Our latest purchase included 26 Polaroid digital cameras that seem to take good pictures and cost much less than competitors’ equivalent products.

Additionally, Blaine earned the business of my family, friends, and colleagues. We coordinated a few “group purchases” of computers followed by LCD monitors and he delivered excellent products and super service. My father was ready to spend significantly more money with competitors, but was very impressed with the service and continues to enjoy trouble-free hours with his PC and LCD monitor. I have recently purchased a new dual core computer as well as a lap top for personal use at home and I know that Blaine and Computer Trends will stand behind these purchases as well. Being a St. Albert resident, Blaine has been willing to pick up and deliver new purchases as well as returns. Problems have been minimal and any issues have been dealt with very efficiently. His dedication and commitment is consistent with the culture of SAM School: “Go the extra mile to serve the clientele.”

Computer Trends has provided SAM School with tremendous value for the money. Blaine has facilitated the process to make purchasing much easier for us. He goes out of his way each and every time he delivers products to our school. The prices are excellent, which allow us to maximize the return on our investment. We will continue to patronize Computer Trends in the future.

Sincerely,

John Strembitsky

Praise From Our Customer O' Neill

I would like to recognize and thank you for the generous and friendly manner in which you helped me resolve the problems I had experienced with my recent computer purchase. I realize that you are indeed concerned with the satisfaction of your customers and are willing to make an extra effort to insure the same. Your desire to help and your flexibility have turned what I feared could been a disastrous event into a more than satisfactory experience. It is obvious to me that you understand that good customer service is key to a successful business. In my capabilities as teacher-trainer and college instructor, I am frequently asked for advice regarding what computer to buy and where to buy it. Because of my experiences with you, I would not hesitate to recommend Computer Trends to any of my students or the professionals that I work with.

Sincerely,

O'Neil

Jenny
